New Insights Into Method Development and Characterization of Amorphous Silica From Wheat Straw

Abstract Amorphous silica, a specialised silicate adsorbent is extensively extracted from agricultural residues for application in various environmental domains. Wheat straws are rich source of silica that have earlier been overlooked however demand value addition. The study presents an innovative approach to extracting wheat straw and standardising the extraction process produce clean product. sodium solution amorphous synthesis were obtained by modifying template mediated sol–gel method. Optimum temperature, concentration pH identified cleaner production with maximum yield favourable characteristics. crystallographic properties analysed X-Ray Diffraction revealed nature ash at 650 °C 4 h. structure phytolith present was observed form articulated elongate undulate epidermal under scanning electron microscopy. Energy Dispersive X-ray spectrum exhibited higher amount (Si %) 70.10% minimal percentage potassium (9.96%). sharp bend 1025 cm −1 attributed siloxane (Si–O-Si) vibrations Fourier transform infrared spectroscopic graph silica. specific surface area measurements showed type II isotherm curve hysteresis H3 type. optimum conditions derived 3 M NaOH H 2 SO 9.
